Our Terms & Conditions

Here at Positive Pilates we know it is dull wading through terms and other legal stuff. However it is important that everyone understands what services we offer and our cancellation terms. If you have any queries or concerns, please contact us.

If you are booking a lesson or a taster class with us, please take a moment to read and understand our Lesson and Offer Terms. Click on the tab to read. When you browse our website, you agree to the Website Terms, these can also be found below.

Lesson and Offers Terms & Conditions

When you book a taster lesson or a class with Positive Pilates you agree to the following Lesson and Offers Terms & Conditions. Please read and understand all our terms before taking out a membership or signing a Direct Debit or attending any of our classes.

The term ‘Positive Pilates’ or ‘Bev Grant’ or ‘Bev’ or ‘I’ or ‘us’ or ‘we’ or ‘our’ refers to the owner of Positive Pilates and the owner of this website. The term ‘you’ or ‘client’ or ‘clients’ refers the person who attends a Positive Pilates class, lesson or taster session.

POSITIVE PILATES ONE-TO-ONE LESSONS

If you are late your lesson time may be reduced to fit into your agreed appointment time slot. This is so clients that follow you are not delayed.

To cancel a lesson please telephone Positive Pilates. Cancellations can be made by letter, email or text however they are deemed to have been accepted until you receive a reply from us. Cancellations are not accepted by any other method.

Cancellations received and accepted 48 hours prior to your lesson time will not be charged.

Cancellations made 48 – 12 hours before your lesson will incur a 50% charge.

Cancellations made less than 12 hours before your lesson will incur a full charge of the service booked.

We endeavour to fill cancelled slots. If we do you will not be charged a cancellation fee.

Lesson bundles have an expiration date so please ensure that you use your four lessons within a two month period. Any lessons remaining after the expiration date will be forfeited.

POSITIVE PILATES GROUP LESSONS

To ensure classes start on time, please arrive slightly early so we are ready to go at the scheduled time. If you are more than 10 minutes late you may not be permitted into the class.

We kindly request, out of respect for other students, that mobile phones or other devices are not used during the class, except in the case of emergency.

Class fees are determined by how many classes you attend in a week. Fees are paid in advance by monthly direct debit, card payment, transfer or online payment. Classes missed can be made up within two months. If you do not make up your class you will forfeit the payment for that class.

Refunds will only be issued in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of Positive Pilates. If you simply do not attend any classes then we will not be able to offer a refund for the period you have been absent, no matter how long. If you inform us we will stop your payments from the following month.

GENERAL

Students must declare any physical and or medical limitations which may affect their ability to participate in our classes. Should your condition change or you experience any physical issues, you are responsible for informing us.

Students assume responsibility of checking with their medical practitioner, physiotherapist, or other health care professional for medical readiness prior to participating in any of our classes.

Positive Pilates is dedicated to providing classes which match the considerations of the students as much as possible within Pilates. Whilst every effort is made to keep the class both safe and effective, there is a risk of injury or death (!) within every physical activity. The student acknowledges that they are taking part of their own free will, and are aware of the risks stated. The student agrees that neither they, their heirs, assigns nor legal representatives will sue or make any other claims of any kind whatsoever against Positive Pilates whether for personal injury, property damage / loss or wrongful death, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted in a class.

Please advise if you are pregnant. This will be kept strictly confidential. We wouldn’t want to spoil your surprise, however we do need to look after you in class.

CLOTHING

Be mindful in what you wear. Clothing should be comfortable, stretchable, and a fabric that is good for sweating in – wicking fabrics that move moisture away from the body are best. Think of the poses you will be in. For obvious reasons (!!) ladies and men, if you are wearing loose shorts please make sure you are wearing lycra leggings or something similar under your shorts.

HOLIDAYS AND HALF TERM

We are pleased to advise that we are open throughout the majority of the year including half terms. The only days that we will be closed are on public Bank Holidays such as May Day, Easter, and during the Christmas holidays.

We do believe in having balance in our lives and we recommend the same to our students. Therefore Positive Pilates operates for 48 out of the 52 weeks of the year and our charges are set accordingly.

REFER A FRIEND

There may be various offers throughout the year for ‘Refer a Friend’. Only those offers current at the time will be available to you.

Rewards specified in the offers only apply if your friend signs up to a membership.
