Posture is the position of your body when you are standing, sitting or lying down. When you have good posture it puts the least amount of strain on supporting muscles, joints and bones especially when you move about or do a weight-bearing activity. It also helps improve your breathing, relieves symptoms of Arthritis and inspires confidence in your own body image whilst bad posture can lead to increased risk of back aches and back pain, slipped disc, pressure inside your chest and poor blood circulation.
At Positive Pilates I can help correct imperfections in how you stand and sit. I am trained to analyse your posture and look for alignment issues that could be the root cause of aches and pains.
I will design specific lengthening and strengthening exercises based around Pilates and intrinsic Biomechanics to get immediate results coupled with a longer-term program of changes you can make to help you realise the on-going benefits of a good posture.
